Markus Vinzent, an author since being a student, he has been C4-Professor for the History of Theology at Köln University, Germany (1996-1999); H.G. Wood Professor for the History of Theology at Birmingham University, UK (1999-2010), Professor for the History of Theology at King's College London (2019-2022), Adjunct Professor at Korea University (2009-2016), a fellow of Topos and Chronos at the Humboldt University, Berlin, and, since 2011, is a fellow of the Max-Weber-Kolleg für kultur- und sozialwissenschaftliche Studien, Universität Erfurt.

He is a board member of the Meister-Eckhart-Gesellschaft, editor-in-chief of Eckhart: Texts and Studies, Studia Patristica (both Peeters Publishers, Leuven); co-editor of Religion in the Roman Empire (Mohr Siebeck, Tübingen); board member of the European Arts Guild of Medicine and Culture/Europäische Künstlergilde für Medizin und Kultur (Berlin); and of the International Conference on Patristic Studies (Oxford, UK).
